Psalm 73 Paraphrased from a Financial Advisor’s insight

by | Apr 7, 2026 | Guest Writers

Written by Kyler Costucci

God is my strength and an infinite return forever.

1. God is good to his people,
to those who honour him wholeheartedly.

2. But as for me, my love suddenly crashed,
like a stock in the great depression.

3. For my eyes sought after wickedness,
when I invested in jealousy with my heavenly account.

4. For their lives now look like glory until death,
their homes are large, their cars are fast.

5. Financial Stress does not enter their days,
they are not heavy laden like the population.

6. Therefore, they clothe themselves in vanity.
Pride is within, and judgement worn as an accessory.

7. Their eyes glimmer with Dollar $igns,
they sweat greed from their pores.

8. They puff out their chest and speak in spite,
they step on others to climb the social ladder.

9. With their mouths, they block blessings from heaven,
and their tongue traps them in a dark world.

10. Therefore, people follow them like blind mice,
and fail in finding discernment in their dirty deeds.

11. And they say, “God is letting them succeed?
They must be doing it right?”

12. Behold, these are evil ways,
doing whatever it takes to acquire things that are fake.

13. Inward I envy, outward I look holy,
I want more, and I doubt.

14. I struggle each day to stay afloat,
and feel forgotten.

15. If I shared my thoughts on Instagram,
I would succumb others to this evil.

16. But as I searched my heart to understand,
it seemed to bring anxious worry.

17. Until I entered my Father’s House,
and wisdom greeted me at the door.

18. Truly, their feet walk a tightrope.
The circus act ends in ruin.

19. Their net worth implodes like a bomb.
It goes from bright green to blood red.

20. Like a dream when one awakes,
O Lord, your justice awaits; their lives are empty like mortgage bonds in 08

21. When my bills stacked high,
my faith came low.

22. I was triggered and disrespectful,
like a hog rolling in his mud.

23. Nevertheless, I am yours, Father, forever,
you guide my every step.

24. Your counsel on earth is worth trillions,
yet still your sonship is worth infinitely more

25. You are my heavenly Father,
and you have loved me since creation

26. My flesh and heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and bondholder forever.

27. For behold, those who lean on their own understanding will lose everything,
you liquidate everyone who doesn’t invest in your word with faith.

28. But for me, it is wise to be with God.
I have made the Lord our God my eternal investment.
that I may tell of all your returns.

  1. Good job. My mind was awash with thoughts of the arrogant rich that fill our world. The end summed it up nicely; I have made God my eternal investment.

  2. Great Concept ,
thank u for sharing 🙏Its not that life changes but the perspective does. Is it what we see or what is truth? Verse 17 changes it up.

God is the greatest investment with the greatest return 💯
I think clarity is the turning point .

    Amen 🙏

You’re right, verse 17 is the anchor. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom 🙏🏻

I Trust You, Lord / Guest-Writer / Cassy Tipper

I Trust You, Lord: By Cassy Tipper Growing up, God was always somewhere in the background. Christmas, Easter, and a few youth group church nights. It was always sort of a ‘dragged to church’ energy, and I had a dad who’d roll his eyes at the mention of the Lord. I...

Learning To Love My Wife

Written by: Rich Larabie   From a wounded place.       1John 4:19 We love because He first loved us. Loving another person is never as simple as we imagine it will be. Marriage reveals this truth more than anything else, in my humble opinion. When we said, "I...
