Psalm 12 Paraphrase by a Financial Advisor

By Kyler Costucci

The Stewards have disappeared.

1. Help us, O Lord, the good sheep are lost;
For the stewards have fled from the flock.

2. Everyone blindly receives prosperity from one another.
with motivational trumpets and a cancerous heart that still beats.

3. May the Lord cleanse these hearts,
and cast out the demonic influence thoughts.

4. Those who say, “Wealth is true freedom,”
have never truly known the Father;
And to know the Father, you must go through the Son

5. “Because the lowly are destitute, because his children cry out,
I will show them their heavenly accounts,” says the Lord.

6. The dividends of the Lord have no tax,
like a GIC with a 100-fold return, held in trust by the Holy Spirit

7. You, O Lord, are our eternal insurance, bought with your blood.
You will protect our Spirit in this life and the next.

8. With every cent the enemy stalks,
as money is worshiped as far as the east is from the west.

  1. Good paraphrase into monetary terms. Made me think how the Holy Spirit is our down payment for our coming inheritance. May Jesus return with it soon.
    Ephesians 1:14-16 Common English Bible. 14 The Holy Spirit is the down payment on our inheritance, which is applied toward our redemption as God’s own people, resulting in the honor of God’s glory.

  2. That was great and fun to read the textual comparison as I went.

  3. “The dividends of the Lord have no tax, like a GIC with a 100-fold return, held in trust by the Holy Spirit.”
    This made me think of Matt. 620 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal.

    Yes, we are to invest our hearts in God, where there is a true and honest return in all aspects of life: here and evermore.

    Thank you for sharing, Kyler

I Trust You, Lord / Guest-Writer / Cassy Tipper

I Trust You, Lord: By Cassy Tipper Growing up, God was always somewhere in the background. Christmas, Easter, and a few youth group church nights. It was always sort of a ‘dragged to church’ energy, and I had a dad who’d roll his eyes at the mention of the Lord. I...

Every Messy Part / Guest Writer / Sherysse Morris

Guest Writer: Sherysse Morris I was gifted this T-shirt on Mother’s Day, and at first glance it seems like a cute gift. However, the person who gifted it did not do it with loving intent. On a day that is meant to celebrate moms, which is already tough as a mom doing...

Why Does God Desire Worship? – Guest Writer / Bruce Merz

Psalm 73 Paraphrased from a Financial Advisor’s insight

The Coming Kingdom Of God Is Mankind’s Hope

The statement, “You only live once,” is widely believed by most of humanity, as it reflects a common human experience. The thought that humans will live more than one life cycle is strange to most people. It is, however, biblically accurate. As demonstrated by people...

Learning To Love My Wife

Written by: Rich Larabie   From a wounded place.       1John 4:19 We love because He first loved us. Loving another person is never as simple as we imagine it will be. Marriage reveals this truth more than anything else, in my humble opinion. When we said, "I...
