Proverbs 15:30 The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and a good report makes the bones healthy.
There are a lot of voices and opinions out in the world ready to replace what God has sown in our hearts or said in His word. The question we should be asking ourselves is, ” Whose report will we believe?” Isa. 53:1 Who has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? If God has said it, then we can count on it.
There is a war going on in the spiritual realm for our minds and thoughts. God has declared through His word that we are loved and accepted through Jesus Christ. Titus 3:5 He saved us — not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy — through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 God poured a generous amount of the Spirit on us through Jesus Christ our Savior. God has made it plain that we are His through Christ, yet there is a constant battle of belief going on in the minds of many as to whether they believe the truth of what God said.
There is a constant attack on the church and leadership that comes from Satan. The devil promotes doubt and spreads lying rumors to weaken the resolve of God’s children. The fact that this happens so fast and regularly shows us that the enemy of our soul cannot handle our faith in the Lord. The moment we believe the truth of God’s love, our strength grows and we are able to withstand the lies of the devil. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
The word of God continually tells us that God loves us and we are the apple of His eye. Like a loving father, God reaches out to us at all times and makes it possible through Jesus Christ to have an open relationship with Him. Eph. 1:7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. The devil comes along and says we must earn God’s love and work for His favor. We have to ask ourselves, “Whose report will we believe?”
God tells us that we are saved and blessed. Do we believe it? God says that by the wounds of Christ we are healed. Do we hear and accept it? Isa. 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. The Lord has said we will prosper in Him as our soul prospers. Is that truth acted upon from our hearts? 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. Whose report will we believe?
The circumstances in our life may look dire, but what does God say about those circumstances? The facts are the everyday events we go through. However, the truth is what God says about the overwhelming trials in front of us on our daily walk in Christ. God is truth and there is no lie in Him. What He says to us through His word can be acted upon in full faith and trust. Num. 23:19 God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Whose report will we believe? God’s report, or every other sideshow that is out in the world or universe. I believe the Lord loves it when we are believing in Him for the impossible and giving Him the full attention of our heart’s faith. I think God smiles on us when we approach Him with the faith of a child and say, ” Lord, I will believe your report!” Heb. 11:6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him.
