Froo Froo Philosophy

Prov. 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Jami Rogers said, “Never dismiss someone’s experience or feelings by trying to make your situation or someone else’s situation seem so much worse. That is called emotional dismissiveness.”
I feel I am going to bat for my friend Jami. She and many others struggle with false and empty friendships, beliefs, and relationships that lead nowhere but to loneliness and emotional hurts. Hag.1:9a You expected much, but then it amounted to little.
The myriads of “philosophical how to get along books” often do not have the essential ingredients for honest friendships. These books have a lot of tactical advice for becoming popular and standing out in the crowd, but not the clear and sincere directions needed for being who you are when your guard is down, or risking who you are when you put your heart out there in the open view of the masses.
Some of our human needs are to be loved, heard, valued, and accepted. However, finding fulfillment for these needs in a broken world may not be realistic without first knowing with certainty the Lord’s love for us personally. Jer. 1:5a I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born.
Knowing God’s love for us is our pivotal heart’s position to launch from in any other relationship. If we do not trust the love of God for ourselves personally, then trusting those who are in this fallen world will be a difficult and a continuous workload of striving.
Philosophy alone cannot meet the deepest heartfelt need of existence. This is why we sometimes one-up the other person with an emotional dismissive attitude, because our own emotions in life are lacking assurance. Only God Himself can fill that empty space in our hearts because He created us to need His presence within our souls so we could be fully who we are. Phil. 2:13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good pleasure.
We were created to know in our hearts that when we call on God’s name we are clearly heard by Him. Jer. 33:3 Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about. Because I know the Lord has already accepted me through Jesus Christ, I am willing by faith to risk being friendly as the proverb says. Prov. 18:24a A man who has friends must himself be friendly.

Our acceptance has already been established within our Creator’s love. Therefore, being accepted by our friends and those we come across in our daily lives will become easier because the sour smell of personal uncertainty is not emanating from our being.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we have a humble confidence within Christ that philosophy cannot generate. When we know we are the beloved in Christ and are at peace within ourselves, we will be able to be friendly in this hard world.
Christ has given us His ability to be that person who sticks closer than a brother. Froo froo and pseudo philosophy can only show us an insipid idea, path, or repetitive rote activity to help curtail certain unwanted habits.
Col. 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
This froo froo or vain philosophy is a temporary patch on the tattered fabric of lost and hurt souls. A real life change is needed. Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life can change our hearts and lives to become His accepted righteousness for ever and ever. I’ll take what the Lord has done for me any day. Thank you Lord God.

Ironies To Contemplate

Anger Is Expensive

Proverbs 16:32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.         In the early 1980s, while attending Bible college and living in Australia, I ministered in prisons for a few years. A common regret among...

Choose Your Hard

Matthew 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. No matter what people say, life is hard. Some have it much harder than others, but overall, for most of the world's population, life is...

Make Your Bed

Acts 9:33 There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. 34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.         I heard Derek Prince say, "The voice...

You Can’t Say That!

Matthew 10:19 But when they hand you over, do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say. My pronouns are The Redeemed of the Lord, and The Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. You can call me that anytime you want....

A Useful Idiot

Ezekiel 28:18 By the multitude of your iniquities, with the injustice of your trading, you have profaned your holy places. And I have brought forth fire from your midst; it has devoured you, and I have given you to ashes upon the earth, before the eyes of all those...

The Low Hum Of Dread

Joshua 2:10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites across the Jordan, whom you devoted to destruction. 11 When we heard this, our hearts...

That’s A Lot Of Faith

Acts 19:19 Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totalled fifty thousand pieces of silver.         When God gets hold of a person's heart, there is...

Christianism Falls Short

Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!       Christianism generally refers to the use of Christian principles as a political ideology. This is why Christianism does...

Keep Breathing

Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.         My friend Glennis asked her hundred-year-old grandfather what the secret to longevity was. He...

Living Loving Laughing

Daniel 5:5 In the same hour, the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace; and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. 6 Then the king’s countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him,...

Adjusting To Chaos

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.         Those who have found themselves easily adjusting to chaos, led by...

And Then What?

Matthew 16:26 What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If I could have that amount in my bank account, then I could... If I owned that property, then I could.... If I had all that...
