The Psalmist says it clearly in Psalm 55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. 7 Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah. 8 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.
Yes! We would hasten or escape from the storm in our life. However, we were created to go forward in life with an expectation of winning the battle raging over us. God has made us victors and not victims. The Lord has given us His assurance and presence. Heb.13:5 He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Plus we have a promise that if we are tempted to cower and give up the battle, then the Lord says in 1 Cor. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
What if we fall to this temptation? Praise the Lord that there is grace and forgiveness for us to the asking. What will I do then? I will believe what God says about me and I will say what the Psalmist says in Psalm 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Just say it!!
The power of words! "Life and death are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Proverbs 18:21. Great blog Norm.
