Proverbs 24:10 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
The anxiety of not knowing what to do has caused the paralyzing of people’s minds, because of the over-analysis concerning the unfamiliar situation that people are finding themselves in. Turn off the news!!! Change your mind’s default mode if it has become fearfully negative. Go do something that gives you life! 2 Tim. 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. If we are in Christ, by faith, our default setting is peace. Therefore, activate it by becoming a helper during this time of chaos.
We cannot keep a sound mind when we are listening to news channels and media sources with the same repetitive news-loops all day long. Change your compass, change your direction. Yes, get the pertinent information needed to take care of each other. Create strategic planning for the health of our families that will be needed, but don’t get inundated with the debilitating fear of others. Other people’s fear does not belong to you, so don’t take it from them.
Fear can be more contagious than a virus. When someone becomes bound with the spirit of fear the results are destructive, and fear will mock you. Prov. 1: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 when your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.
This is a time for prayer and reaching out to God to find out how to intercede for our country. God’s word promises that if we humble ourselves by coming to Him, He will heal our land. 2 Chron. 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Are you called by His name? Then pray!
If this season of hardship is overwhelming to us, then what will happen during the real times of persecution? Jer. 12:5 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?
Saints, we are more than conquerors through Him who first loved us, and well able to bring our requests to God on behalf of this scared and fearful world right now. If we cannot do that, then we have become a small people. Prov. 24:10 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. We are not a small people. We are a mighty army led by the King of kings and Lord of lords. Fear has no legal place in our hearts! Fear is a ruthless master, but faith in the Lord brings understanding.
If you have become stuck in a state of paralysis through analysis, then make up your mind to shout praises to your Lord and break through the uncertainty. Whenever the people of God were in danger of being overtaken by foreign powers, the worshipers and musicians went ahead of the army praising God, and God did the warfare. 1 Sam. 17:47a And this whole assembly will know that it is not by sword or by spear that the LORD saves, for the battle is the LORD’s.
Heavenly Father, we praise you and ask you to tear down the power of this virus that has mocked and brought destruction to the people on this earth. We intercede for the people you love and we are asking for the healing of our lands. We thank you that you hear us and love us. In Jesus name!
