Fact Versus Truth

Proverbs 22:21 To make you know what is right and true, that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?

Someone said, “God’s Grace is only as visible as His truth is clear.”  Clearly, Jesus was and still is full of grace and truth. John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The blessing that we have in Christ enables us to discern truth and is available for us to draw upon, by faith, because the Lord of grace and truth lives and reigns in our souls.
Truth can be found, attained, and received by faith because the Lord of truth arrests our inner-man to be alert and guided by the Spirit of truth; therefore, truth is readily available when we ask for it. Phil. 4:8a Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, think on these things.
Where some Christian and non-Christians alike have problems is in the maturity of their understanding of truth. Sometimes the truth can be right in front of a person and they can miss it entirely, as in the case of Pilate talking to Jesus. John 18:38a Pilate saith unto Him, What is truth?

Facts and truth are often perceived as interchangeable and having the same meaning; therein is the problem. This is why a spiritual person or immature Christian will say something like, “Well, that is your truth and this is my truth.” Sorry, truth is truth and whether the spiritual person knows it or not, God will judge them according to their own so-called measure of truth.
The plumb line that these carnal people set for themselves and others will be the plumb line God uses to show them their shortcomings. So, why not take the gift of true grace that God has provided us and that is His Son, Jesus Christ, the only way and truth to eternity with the Father. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
About four weeks ago a cardiologist showed me the cardiogram image of the irregular heartbeat that sometimes happens to me. The doctor said, “This cardiogram shows me the truth of what is happening to you.” I said, “No, this graph shows me the facts of what is happening, but the truth is, Jesus sent his word and healed me.” The facts are, as the doctor says, this could cause serious problems down the road. The truth is that Jehovah-Rapha is still on the throne and wants me to be in health as my soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.

The facts are that a month ago I did have a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). The truth is that the Lord, through the name of Jesus Christ, pulled me out of it. There are many facts going on and I value the information the dedicated doctors have given me because now I know what to pray for exactly. Phil. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
We can get overwhelmed by the facts in life but we are the children of the most high God and His word concerning our lives and well-being is the truth about our lives. Are there going to be hard days? Yes, absolutely, but the truth is Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I am not being braggadocios, I am only saying what God says is the truth about my life. Matt. 9:29b According to your faith be it unto you.
Are doctors part of God’s health plan? Yes, they are, as many have been called to the healing ministry. However, when God’s word of truth is grafted deep in our soul then it will not be long before the truth becomes the facts of our situation.
Abraham and Sarah had to believe God for ten years before Isaac the son of promise was born to them. Abraham did not consider the fact of his old age or Sarah’s ability to conceive, but only considered the truth of the word God had given them.

Rom. 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform. Abraham and Sarah had a lot of facts to way out, but the truth of God’s promise won out.
Joseph was seventeen years old when he had the dreams from God. Gen. 37:5a And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren; and they hated him yet the more. The facts of his betrayal by his brothers, then the fact that he was a slave in Potiphar’s house, and the fact that he was falsely accused of a crime and sent to prison were some terrible facts about his life.

Thirteen years later, when Joseph is thirty years old, the truth of the dreams come true. Gen. 41:44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Joseph was now living the truth of what God had said.
We have all been inundated with all kinds of facts that disturb our peace and life. What does God’s word say about those facts that have affected our lives? Is there a better way than just being a survivor? I think there is and that is to find out by the word of God what God says about the facts we are facing and get the truth of the matter. Blessings.

It's all grace Jonathan. We, as Christians, have not even started to scratch the surface of the fullness of the grace God that He has given us out of His perfect love. Truly it is an amazing grace!

"At the point our soul is fully renewed by the truth we are empowered (grace) to rule over all facts opposing the truth; we are set free indeed!"
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Grace is something we grow into. Saved by grace is the starter kit.

An Offensive Disease

Proverbs 21:2 Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts. We are not talking about the horrible effects that the black death plague, the Spanish flu, or our modern-day HIV had on people's lives. But more insidious, and deceitful is a...

Spiritually Empty
