Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant.

We do not know much about Pontius Pilate’s wife, but her profound statement should have been heeded by her husband. Matt 27:19 While he was sitting on the judge’s bench, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for today I’ve suffered terribly in a dream because of him.” Pontius Pilate’s wife got a clear message in a dream but was not able to convey the seriousness of it to her husband, and therefore, her fears were not eased.
It is a blessing when we get a clear direction from God in a dream. We wake up knowing what to do. There is an assurance in our soul that what God has sown into our hearts during the night will work. Job 33:15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds. 16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, 17 He makes them turn from doing wrong; He keeps them from pride. Someone might ask, “Why does God wait until we are sleeping to sow His instructions within us?” Probably, if we were awake, we would argue with Him all night, and there would be no end to our asking, “Why Lord?”
God said our sleep would be pleasant and not nightmarish. Prov. 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant. This pleasantness of peaceful sleep will coincide with the assurance that when God comes and talks to us in our dreams, we will get clear instructions for life and the growth of our faith.
Joseph got clear instructions from God to get out of town to keep Mary and Jesus safe from being murdered. Matt. 2:13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” Joseph could trust the dream because he had already been approached by God in a previous dream, to take Mary as his wife. God assured Joseph that he could trust Mary because God was doing a great work through her. Matt 1:20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Not only does God protect us by warning us in a dream, but He also leads us on our life’s path and directs the course of a nation’s history. King Nebuchadnezzar had a disturbing dream that shook him to the core. Dan. 2:3 And the king said to them, “I had a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.” Nebuchadnezzar wanted the magicians and astrologers of his realm to interpret the dream, and also describe the dream itself without any explanation of the dream from the king. This caused a crisis among the soothsayers because they would have to know the dream to give their so-called readings.
Daniel said, “Is not the interpretation of dreams for God?” Daniel seeks God’s wisdom and understanding of the dream and brings clear answers to the king. Dan. 2:36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Daniel describes the future events that will take place and affect nations and kingdoms from that day forth. The king makes an incredible declaration as to the power of Daniel’s living God because of the true interpretation. Dan. 2:47 The king answered and said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”
God is always trying to get His word to us and into us. The Lord will use every imaginable method He deems fit for us to understand what He wants for our lives. Do not dismiss the power and effectiveness of dreams. We should embrace with assurance the revelatory instructions that are delivered to us in this amazing way. Keep all channels of communication open with God. The Lord promised that He would reveal mysteries to us through dreams in these last days. Acts 2:17 And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. Embrace God’s goodness and ask God for a dream.

Hi Norm, I had a God dream a good many years ago that I would like to share. It was preempted by a thunderstorm the night before. I was sitting on the floor in my bedroom at the sliding glass door and the storm was very close. I loved watching thunderstorms and this was a doozy. All of a sudden a bolt of lightening, right in front of me, hit the nearest tree about 50 feet away. It was the first time in my life I’ve ever made a decision without my brain. What I mean is that I leapt from the floor to my bed, which was a couple of feet behind me and then thought to myself,”how did I get here?” I literally didn’t make that decision consciously. The next day, in the afternoon, after I had finished homeschooling the kids, at about 3 o’clock, I sent them outside to play. I took my Bible and headed for my bedroom. My bed was sitting on the floor and was only about two feet from the floor because there was no frame. I sat down next to the bed, placed my Bible on the bed and started to read it. I found myself falling asleep, I could not keep my eyes open. So, I closed my eyes, laid my head upon the Bible and instantly fell asleep. As I was dreaming, (although I must say, I’ve never felt more awake or alive in my life)
I was visiting with some friends and Jesus arrived. I ran to meet Him bursting with joy and feeling like I had missed Him very much. We embraced like lifelong friends that had known each other for and from eternity. Next, He took me to show to me the Love of the Father. It is not like human love, which by comparison, is not love at all. God’s love, and this is difficult to explain because language is so limiting, is not motivated by anything but Itself( a strange word to use because, Itself, seemed to have no Self in the equation). There are no strings attached, it is PURE and limitless. It is, God, moving towards us like a charging locomotive with no possibility of turning around or away from us. After this,Jesus, revealed Himself to me as the WORD! Genesis to Revelation, the WORD and He are ONE. Next He wanted, I think, to show me heaven. We started to climb what seemed like stairs but it was cut short because my flesh rose up and said, a definite, no! (I’m wondering if I knew I would not want to return). I woke up filled with joy and wonder wanting to love on everyone I met.

    Love you, brother!
