Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
How many a good story, poem, play, or song was dropped from our hearts, or not written because we talked ourselves out of it? We might have said things like, “I could never write like him I’m such a poor speller. It would probably fail on opening night, what do I know about dancing. Why try and sing this song I wrote, my music teacher said I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.”
John Maxwell said, “Where there is no hope in the future, there is no power in the present.” Where there is no vision for the future, the people perish because they have lost their power to dream and their strength to advance in their God-given vision of hope.
Our creative abilities are inspired by God to bring us closer to Him, in order to build our faith in His love toward us. Heb. 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Is it no wonder that the devil hates us? John 8:44-B When he (Satan) speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. The devil has not changed his tactic from the start when seducing Eve. Gen. 3:1 Yea, hath God said?
He is trying the very same thing on us. He says, do you really think people will like this? Do you actually think God will help you with that poorly written story? Even if you get to sing, would you look good in public? There is nothing new under the sun here, he goes on and on trying to destroy the creativity within you by using insecurity and inferiority. He is after that vision that expresses your love for God.
Why? Our Lord and Savior truly wants us to succeed in His loving plan for our lives. Phil. 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Go ahead! Paint, sing, dance, write, invent, create, dream, love, and vision to the best of your God-given ability. Vision the future and you will have strength for today!
