Psalm 73:16 But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task, 17 Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked.
Led Zeppelin’s song Dazed And Confused has a line that says, “Lots of people talkin’, few of them know.” In this world of individualism, there are a lot of people talking and true enough, few of them know what they believe and what they can hang their hat on as worthy of life. Have you been wondering why you are bored with people who only seek entertainment, distractions, empty gossip, and the validation of their invented beliefs? You are most likely craving truth and seeking an understanding of your purpose.
If you no longer have an appetite for the common gruel that society claims is good enough to live in mediocrity, you are probably seeking the righteous justification of your existence. Psalm 73:16 But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task. We wonder if anyone is taking the time to think things through. Some of us want to know the deep-seated reason that we were created, but the commonality of our surroundings does not shed light or appease the emptiness in our soul, because as the song says, “Lots of people talkin’, few of them know.” Eccl. 7:25 I searched everywhere, determined to find wisdom and to understand the reason for things. I was determined to prove to myself that wickedness is stupid and that foolishness is madness.
The appetizers for life that you have been fed, have become tasteless and empty of any intrinsic meaning. Your heart is crying for more and is saying, “I want answers, I want something of substance that will feed my heart and mind!” Well, maybe you are ready to hear what Jesus said. John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit it is of no account. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life providing eternal life. God, the Son, gives us His Words for life and living. Rev. 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. No avatar, goddess, or immortal invention can reach into the soul of a man and fill in the cavernous space that was created to come alive when the Lord Jesus is invited in, and given full access to the throne of our heart that awaits His rule.
When we read about the events that took place before the great flood, we can perceive that the wicked world was in a constant state of being dazed and confused, because confusion is the result of being sinfully ungrateful. Rom. 1:21b And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Dark and confused were the default setting of their lives. Gen. 6:5 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. If the hearts of mankind are in a constant rhythm of exercising evil, then dazed confusion will be the byproduct of such a society.
When mankind is left to its version of morality, there will be every kind of compromise available to a corrupted heart. Without a righteous structure, man’s heart will drift to a reprobate existence where it will do what it wants to do and nothing will stop it. Jer. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? The lawlessness will get to the point of no return, and all of life will look like it is in a hopeless cycle of recidivistic behaviour. This way of living will prompt us to wonder if God is even listening. Gen. 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart. I’m not saying that the world is back to the place where God wished He had never created man because He has redeemed mankind through the blood of Jesus, so that, we can bring the kingdom of God to this world. Yes, the world is a mess and the majority of the human race is walking the streets dazed and confused, but we do not have to remain that way.
We need to spend serious time with our Heavenly Father so that we get an understanding of His plan for His kingdom ruling on this earth. Psalm 73:17 Until I entered God’s sanctuary. Then I understood their destiny. It is essential to surround ourselves with people who love the Lord and want the best for each other. Our desire should be to want the kingdom of God to work and flourish on this earth. It is imperative that we repent of the sins and obstacles that confuse our hearts. We need to submit to God’s will when He shows us what is hindering the blessing of the Lord in our lives. Our mandate is to loose those who are bound in life, and also bind the works of the enemy who is looking for souls to destroy. In Christ, we are the answer to all the confusion that Satan is sowing in this world. Jesus is the answer to the emptiness, unfulfillment, and general mess that has overwhelmed the hearts of many. However, we need to let the Lord do His finished work in us so that we see and hear His instruction. Heavenly Father, let it be so!

Amen. Good word. Thank you.
