1Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; 7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
So, what are you worried about? No matter how organized or adjusted we become to the circumstances that come our way, we still find things to worry about. The rub that we come up against is that the Lord instructs us not to take the cares and worries of the world upon ourselves or within our hearts. The Lord expects us to hand our worries over to Him so that He can in effect worry for us. Not that Jesus is worried about anything – since He has overcome the world. Jesus takes the destructive power of worry from us and gets rid of it with His overcoming ability and power. 1Pet. 5:7 Casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you. The word care in this verse means sorrow, grief, anxiety and suffering of the mind. Jesus asks us to exchange our cares for His peace and let Him care for us. The Lord says, “Let Me carry your sorrow, grief, anxiety and suffering of the mind for you.” True humility is to stop trying to climb the wall of worry and hand those cares, fears, and doubts over to the Lord. Psalm 25:9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
When there is a mountain of worry before us, the Word of God says to speak to it so that it be cast away from our lives. Mark 11:23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. My late mentor, Dawn Hannah, told me, “When you speak to the mountain in your life, and it is not moving, then you climb it Sunny Boy. Keep speaking to the top of your mountain as you climb and chip away at the top of it until you find yourself on level ground and have conquered it.”
We should not express fear concerning the size of the wall of worries before us, but we should declare the might and size of our God who can conquer the mountainous fears in our lives. The enemy of our soul is on a permanent campaign promoting mendacious propaganda hoping to deceive us into becoming overwhelmed by accepting the worries of life as something inevitable. The truth is, Jesus has already defeated the spirit of fear through His sacrifice on the cross. We have a Saviour who can and has taken our cares of life (if we let Him) and changed them into a victory to be claimed in Jesus’ name. The Lord will exchange the ashes of our life and the grief we suffer for His deliverance and resurrection power. The Lord will also give us His grace that can lift us into the realm of blessing. Isa. 61:3a To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
The wall of worry will always be an option for us to climb and become stuck upon. Jesus asks a few questions about what we choose to worry about and suffer about. Matt.6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Is not life more than a lot of the everyday items we have been counting on to fulfil the eternal need within our souls? The Lord is postulating that we have placed our priorities in the realm of the natural, rather than where we can be in a dependent relationship with God our Father. Matt. 6:28 And why do you worry about clothes? Observe how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labour or spin thread.
Yes, I know, we need food, clothing, and shelter, but not at the cost of our souls becoming poor. The Lord promises that if we are rich toward Him in our relationship, He will provide for our needs. Anxious worry saps forthright strength from our souls, and God wants our soul’s attentiveness to be upon Him so that we look to His provision for our lives. Worry and the cares of this world are the thieves of the infinite rest we seek in life. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness. Thank you, Lord, that you came so that we would have life and have it to the fullness that only You can give us. The worries and cares of this world will choke the desires that we have for God, and Satan will definitely point out the endless amount of things there are to worry about. Mark 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
The reason the enemy of our soul keeps pointing out all the things there are to worry about in life is that in Christ, and with God, we can overcome worry and conquer all the devil’s schemes to keep our eyes off of Jesus. Psalm 18:28 You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. 29 With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God, I can scale a wall. 30 As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD’s Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him. Yes, Lord, with You, we can scale the wall of worry because Your Word is flawless and gives life to those who trust in You. In reality, the wall of worry is not something to fear but it is something that we conquer through Christ and are blessed for it. May God’s strength be within us all to help us humble ourselves before God, by giving Him our fears and cares of life so that we may overcome the challenges we face. Amen!

Good word Norm. This probably applies to many and it’s a good reminder.
