Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
There is nothing as heart healing as hearing the right word at the right time. In that moment of hearing a word of blessing, deliverance or assurance, we then know that we know God has heard our heart’s cry and there is a peace that is beyond words of explanation that settles our hearts. Phil. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It is always nice to receive that word when we are in need, but just as nice to be the one giving it out and doing it from a heart of blessing. There is an amazing side factor of blessing that happens when someone gives out a blessing in word or action. The one who needed a word in season gets blessed and the one who gave it out also gets blessed, but most interesting is if anyone sees this blessing taking place they also get blessed.
Talk about paying-it-forward. This blessed result has a compounding affect. Blessing upon blessing goes out and will not come back empty. Isa. 55:11 So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
How hard is it to say something encouraging to anyone? It does not have to be spoken in eloquence or with great dialogue. It can be as simple as smiling and saying, “Good morning, I hope everything goes your way today.” We get entangled in our so-called busy lives with a no end in sight, with a drive that pressures us forward into lives of mediocrity where we end up existing rather than living. Eccl. 11:4 He that observes the wind shall not sow; and he that regards the clouds shall not reap.
We end up doing nothing and getting the result of that non action. We are neither hot or cold as we become common in attitude and eventually empty of vision. Blessing should be on the tips of our tongues, ready to pounce like a mugger rather than giving grievous words of an empty value. Words of blessing will bring life to a bad situation and words inspired by God will bring people out of darkness into a great lifetime of light and blessing.
Prov. 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. In many cases, we are the only bible that a lot of people in our lives ever get to read. Matt. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
What if Barnabas had never spoken out on behalf of Saul to the Apostles? Barnabas brought an encouraging word to the apostles as to the value and conversion of Saul. Barnabas also got the apostles to trust the reality of Saul’s conversion. Acts 9:26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Those encouraging words changed history for the church and we now have an incredible amount of the New Testament written by Paul who now encourages us through the Holy Spirit.
What if Jesus, through His encouraging words, had not brought Peter out of his guilt for denying Christ three times? John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Jesus not only encouraged Peter but marked out his ministry for him and we know that Peter became a bold encourager in the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:14 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Notice had been taken that they had been with Jesus who had encouraged these unlearned men into powerful men of God in the Holy Spirit by His words.
Someone might say, “But that was Jesus, I am just me.” Not so, we have Jesus living within our souls. The Spirit of God will guide us into all things that pertain to the wisdom and will of the Holy Spirit. Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. We just have to be willing vessels of the Holy Spirit and willing to be ready with a blessing from our hearts and on our tongues that will change a person’s life or perspective forever. Start at home and just go bless someone. Blessings.
Finish Strong
Jeremiah 12:5 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? Finish strong, or...
"Do you love me?" Yes lord. Breathe in courage, exhale fear.
Just stumbled across this one and you just so happened to use the same verse.
Encouragment from God to me, through me, to others.
